Peeps go on about "the smoking ban" in pubs, and yes ok smoking is bad for ya but why o why if this is such a bad drug how come they sell it over the counter??? Surely if this drug is costing the NHS so much money and peeps are suffering and dying from its side affects, why does this government not remove it from the shelves??? I am not a supporter of the smoking ban in pubs, this has only resulted in ghastly images of smokers standing outside fag in one hand and drink in the other, which I believe does not portray what The Borders is about. However I do agree with non smoking in food premises and on public transport. We all have bad habits, smoking being one of them, but no-one mentions farting in public, cheap perfume and poor standards of hygiene which we all come across when being severed by the public and does anyone, other than me, complain bout it? The only thing that killed the pub trade was supermarkets selling booze, just imagine the results if this hadn't happened; less binge drinkers and underagers???
